From t-shirts to tuxedos, Native fashion designers have impacted the world and their industry with creative and innovative designs. During a high-energy runway show, designers Dorothy Grant (Haida), Jamie Okuma (Luiseño/Shoshone Bannock) and Bethany Yellowtail (Apsaálooke/Northern Cheyenne) showcase pieces from their latest collections. Through their wearable art, they will share individual and collective histories and experiences that illuminate their practice and artistic methods.

The Power of Native Design is part of the series Native Fashion Now. It takes place this Thursday, April 20 at 6 pm at American Indian Museum Heye Center. There is no cost to attend and the seating is on a first-come, first served basis.
