Not only is Ashley Callingbull the first Indigenous woman to be crowned Miss Universe Canada, but she is also the first married woman and first woman over the age of 28 to win the title.
In 2015, she was also the first Indigenous woman to be crowned Mrs. Universe. She appeared as the first Indigenous First Nations woman to be featured as a Sports Illustrated model in 2022.
