Lily Gladstone has been a leading force in Indigenous identity in the entertainment industry this past year and has achieved yet another milestone. In addition to her remarkable acting performances in award-winning movies such as ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ and the recently released mini-series ‘Under the Bridge,’ she has now also taken up the role of a Competition Juror.
The Cannes Film Festival, which takes place annually in the city of Cannes, France, is a highly-anticipated event that showcases a diverse range of new films from around the world, including documentaries of all genres. This year’s festival is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 14th, and will run until Saturday, May 25th. The festival’s jury panel comprises renowned individuals from the film industry, including Turkish screenwriter Ebru Ceylan, French actress Eva Green, Lebanese writer-director Nadine Labaki, Spanish writer-director Juan Antonio Bayona, Italian actor Pierfrancisco Favino, Japanese director Kore-eda Hirokazu, French actor Omar Sy, and of course, Indigenous actress Lily Gladstone. The jury will be presided over by ‘Barbie’ director Greta Gerwig.
