This year’s showcase will take place on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Tacoma Armory, 1001 Yakima Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405, and promises an unforgettable evening of fashion, culture, and storytelling. The Free Vendor Market will be from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., while the Fashion Show will be at 5:00 p.m.
The 2024 lineup features a diverse list of designers, each bringing their unique perspective to Native fashion:
- Blanket Door: An Indigenous futurism-inspired streetwear brand pushing boundaries with bold, contemporary designs that honor cultural traditions while looking toward the future.
- Alicia’s Designs: Known for exquisite hand-crafted clothing and accessories, Alicia’s Designs blends timeless techniques with modern flair to create wearable art.
- Courtney Little Axe of ALTRN8V: A rising star in alternative gothic fashion, Courtney’s work reimagines Native design through a dark and edgy aesthetic, offering a fresh take on cultural expression.
- Nar Rew Ekar by Shoshoni Hostler: A remarkable artist and designer whose journey into wearable art began under deeply personal and inspiring circumstances. Hailing from Klamath, CA, Nar Rew Ekar’s story is rooted in resilience, tradition, and an unwavering passion for honoring Indigenous culture.
This year’s show celebrates a spectrum of talent, from established designers to fresh voices breaking into the fashion industry. Each collection highlights the depth and breadth of Indigenous creativity, from futuristic streetwear to intricately crafted accessories and avant-garde couture.
The Tacoma Native Fashion Show is more than a runway event—it’s a platform for amplifying Native voices and celebrating Indigenous identity, resilience, and creativity.
