The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) is the largest and most prestigious juried Native Art Market in the World! With over 100 previous Indian Market events in its back pocket, SWAIA stretched its wings to incorporate the very first Indigenous Fashion Week in the United States at the beginning of this month. SWAIA Native Fashion Week (SNFW) was a huge hit, with several of the country’s top news outlets, channels, journals, and newspapers covering the weekend events. The New York Times, one of the United States’ most iconic newspapers, was in attendance and released its coverage this morning.

Not only was SNFW monumental within NDN Country, but it has been able to make an impact outside of our community thanks to the massive support and coverage from large media publications like the New York Times. 2024 has showcased so much Indigenous representation, and we can’t wait to see more.
