Tia Wood (Plains Cree / Coast Salish) is a highly gifted singer-songwriter who is known for her gorgeous voice and TikTok content that explores themes of personal growth, spiritual awakening, and cultural identity.

Recently, Tia achieved a significant milestone in her career by signing with Sony Music, one of the most respected and influential record labels in the industry. An opportunity like this is a true blessing for any up-and-coming artist, but it has an even more significant meaning for Indigenous people.

Popular music and famous artists have such an effect and impact on the rest of the world. Artists in the mainstream are able to bring awareness to neglected causes and foundations and influence their audience to take action. With the majority of Indigenous and Native artists yet to be signed, Tia has the opportunity to bring Indigenous culture, love, and awareness to the heart of the rhythm and blues music scene.

With over 2 million followers on TikTok, Tia is paving the way for other Indigenous artists and content creators. Her videos include videos from and about pow-wows, her life and culture growing up as an Indigenous woman, and, of course, her flawless voice.

You can follow Tia on TikTok and Instagram. Watch her perform ‘Indian Boy’ LIVE last year at Come Toward the Fire here

Be sure to keep an eye out for her new music; we can’t wait to hear more.
