The energy of Santa Fe Indian Market spills far beyond the plaza this year. On Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15, Indigenous House, the Native-women-owned brand and media company led by founder Crystal Echo Hawk and head of content and community Jade Begay, takes over La Fonda on the Plaza for a two-day experience built around Native music, fashion, food, and style. Guests are invited in to meet Indigenous talent, get a first look at new shows, sample from brand partners, and step into a growing movement centered on Native stories, creativity, and community.
A Lineup Built Around Native Voices
The programming moves fluidly between conversation, performance, and craft. Highlights include a fireside chat with Secretary Deb Haaland and a panel bringing together Lou Diamond Phillips, Elisha Pratt, James Whitecloud, Ryker Sixkiller, James Healy Jr., and Lane Factor to discuss their film Gangland. A Creator Summit features Shina Nova and Eagle Blackbird, spotlighting the next wave of Native storytellers building audiences on their own terms.
Fashion, Craft, and Conversation
For those drawn to design, a fashion and culture conversation led by Vogue’s Christian Allaire gathers artist and jewelry designer Jennifer Younger, Faherty Brand co-founder Kerry Docherty, N8iV Beauty founder Ruth-Ann Thorn, and ThunderVoice Hat Co.’s Lehi ThunderVoice Eagle. The dialogue sits at the heart of what the weekend is about: Native makers defining their own aesthetic and carrying craft traditions into contemporary work.
Music, Food, and the Mercantile
The Rez Round Roundup Honky Tonk keeps the room moving with performances from Vincent Neil Emerson, Kalyn Fay, Sierra Spirit, and DJ Garronteed, while the kitchen delivers bites from James Beard Award winning Chef Sean Sherman and Chef Claudia Serrato, Ph.D. Rounding out the experience is The Indigenous House Mercantile, a curated marketplace featuring Wakeah Jhane, N8iV Beauty, Faherty Brand, House of Sutai, Jennifer Younger, Stoner Baby Nails, and NDN Girls Book Club.
